Enjoy free live gypsy swing at Third Place Commons! Welcome Christiaan van Hemert from the Netherlands for his first show of the season in the U.S.! Third Place Commons has plenty of seating, a huge dance floor, and features easy access to a book store, bakery, bbq, and teriyaki. Victor Horky invites Christiaan van Hemert to present the compositions of Django Reinhardt, as well as Christiaan’s own compositions and jazz standards for the listening and dancing pleasure of the guests at Third Place Commons. Victor is a local musician and dancer as well as leader for the band “Silk Road Swing”. Christiaan graduated with honors in violin and double bass from the conservatories in Utrecht, Rotterdam and The Hague. Later, Christiaan began performing jazz violin with high-profile artists such as the Rosenberg Trio, Mozes Rosenberg, Roby Lakatos, Alfonso Ponticelli, Tchavolo Schmitt, Lollo Meier and Paulus Schafer.
